"Let there be more light" catches the musician Woolf in his working process - often it seems things aren't working out. Nevertheless, he remains steady: a critical perfectionist working (only) for his music. Throughout the film we are shown the flip-side of the radiating glamourous world of the music business as it usually presents itself. Here, it is a small world with failure and without spectacle: every trivial detail counts and appears all the more interesting.
